Contributions to the New Technologies fund provide support for: Bridging the Digital Divide
Not everyone has the electronic tools needed to succeed in today's world, so the Library Foundation helps bridge this digital divide by ensuring free access to computers, the Internet, and other electronic resources at Central Library and each of the 72 branches. After-school Computer Aides
Available during the busiest hours for computer use, after-school computer aides help anyone with the use of computers, printers, the Internet, Library databases, software , and specially designed Kids Path computers. Digitization Projects
The Los Angeles Public Library has nearly 3 million historic photographs, and thousands of rare books and documents. More than 67,000 have so far been digitized and catalogued for public access. Database Enhancements
The Library Foundation makes a wealth of information available for free by partly funding the Library's subscriptions to research databases, online tutorials, and downloadable e-media.
