There are a few spots left!
Library Foundation of Los Angeles Members are cordially invited to join us for the exclusive debut of "The Writer's Cut." This new program celebrates the written word and how it comes to life on television with the modern storytellers of our time - writers who craft our favorite shows.
At 5:00 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2013, our first guest Dan O'Shannon, an award-winning writer for some of the most beloved sitcoms of our era, will take us through his writing method and inspiration throughout his long career as well as the ins and outs of comedy writing.
O'Shannon will be in conversation with David Isaacs, a current professor at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts. Isaacs has worked as a television screenwriter and producer for over 35 years and has been involved as a writer or producer in more than 800 episodes of television comedy.
Taking place in the Central Library's Mark Taper Auditorium, the evening will conclude with a reception and book signing. Admission is free, but space is limited, so please respond early.
To make reservations, place your name on the waiting list or to become a Library Foundation Member, please contact Membership Director Erin Sapinoso at email@example.com.
Dan O’Shannon is currently an executive producer for the hit ABC show “Modern Family” and was a former writer and producer for other memorable shows such as "Frasier," "Cheers," and "Newhart." Winner of four Emmys, two Golden Globes, and five Writers Guild of America Awards, he is also the author of a comedy theory book What are You Laughing at? A Comprehensive Guide to the Comedic Event.
