Contemporary Plays by Disabled Playwrights
Beyond Victims and Villains
Readings from a stunning new collection, edited by Victoria Ann Lewis, of bawdy, funny, searing plays by playwrights exploring disability as a new narrative in the American and global experience, one raising deep and unexpected moral and political questions. Participants: Doris Baizley; Alan Toy; Lynn Manning; Emily McGowan; John Pixley; Ann Stocking; Jim Troesh; Bill Trzeciak.
Victoria Lewis is the founder of the Other Voices Project at the Mark Taper Forum (1982-2001), where for over twenty years she developed theatrical training and employment opportunities for the disability community including plays that challenged old notions of disability in drama and the media.
